C.       Approval of October 15, 2025 Minutes:  Katie moves, Laurie seconds approval.  Motion carries.

 

D.      Treasurer’s Report--Deb Langacker:  Report to the Community $425.95 for food and $244.04 for printing and $257 for coffee, etc.  Balance of $10484.58

 

E.       Coordinated Entry Updated--Liz Croley:  Attached.

 

F.       Spotlight – Safe Parking Program --Kandis Smith: Postponed

 

G.      Owner/Tenant Project--Eldrige Alexander with People of Progression: Attached.  Recommendations:  Education to tenants on maintenance issues, ie. Furnace, lights, etc., Better communication between landlords and tenants, Support for tenants around issues like court processes, etc.  Contact Eldridge at slntptnrs@gmail.com

H.      Policy on Speakers--Susan Garcia Franz:  Question from Jon that spending up to 50% of our budget on a trainer might be too high.  Will discuss with exec team and bring recommendations to next meeting.

 

I.        Committee Updates

a.       DEI Committee Report--Tracie La Rue Moen:  Looking for a new secretary.  Would like new people to join the committee.  Meetings are the first Wednesday of the month at 1:00

b.       Affordable Housing Report--Susan Garcia Franz:  Working on a form for Housing Champions.  Continuing to work on presentation.

c.       Increase in Employment Income--Jennie Moore:  Putting together a plan.  Will meet again in January.

d.       Coordination and Engagement – Inclusive Structure & Participation--Liz Croley: Looking to get more access points for CE throughout the community.  If you are interested in becoming an access point let Liz know.

e.       Churches United in Care--Amy Flanders:  Started with a new format—6 meetings a year to coordinate efforts.  They have guest speakers from government and community organizations.  They also coordinate the quarterly lever meetings (levers are the committees formed after the faith community summit;  emergency shelter, affordable housing, regulation and legislation.  Landlord issues, neighborhoods)  All churches and community members are welcome to join.  Meetings are the  2nd Tuesday of the month at Memorial Presbyterian at 9:00 a.m.  Quarterly lever meetings are over zoom and if someone is interested in joining, let Amy know.  amyjaneflanders@gmail.com

J.        Fox Cities Housing Alliance Update--Kristine Giornalista:  Coalition of many different groups (government, healthcare, nonprofits) focused on increasing access to home ownership and housing.  3 action teams;  financing (exploration of a community land trust—hiring a consultant)  regulation (zoning, licensing, working with municipalities hoping for a convening in the spring), community education and engagement (help advocate for recommendations coming out of the other two teams.  Hope to have a debut in the spring to let people know about what is happening. 

 

K.      Other Business: from Beth Weiler at Heads Up-- There is a brand new non profit in the area.  They are called Second Chance Garage and are focusing on easing the transportation barrier for those with cars/teaching mechanic skills to at risk young adults.  You can check out their website and I'd encourage you all to connect to show the support of our community/see how your orgs might be able to work together or just to spread the word!
