A.     Call to Order

C.      Spotlight:  Outagamie Co. Conflict Resolution Center- Jennifer Sunstrom:  Will be providing volunteer mediation for small claims disputes.  Will help keep people out of court.  OCCRC will provide a 40 hour training for volunteers.  Most conflict resolution centers have a 70-80% success rate.  Provides a chance for people to speak to each other rather than at each other.  Hope to help people avoid evictions.  What can YOU do?  Become a volunteer and/or support the organization financially. https://occrc.org/

D.     Oct. 15 State of Homelessness Presentation-- Adam Hurst:  Carrie Poser, the CoC Director, will be doing the presentation over zoom after our October meeting.  Focus on the homelessness crisis response, role of coordinated entry, advocacy.  This will be specific to our coalition.  1 ½ to 2 hours.  Also doing a collaborative housing summit at  HoChunk Casino Sept. 10-11 focused on coalition building and advocacy. 

E.      Approval of June 18, 2025 Minutes;  Lisa Strandberg moves, Deb Langacker seconds.  Motion carries.  

F.      Treasurer’s Update--Deb Langacker:  One deposit of membership dues.  Two expenses for food for in person meeting.  Balance is $11,499.26

G.     Coordinated Entry Update--Liz Croley:  attached.  PiT:  In need of one lead and a few volunteers for the lunches the week after. 2 virtual trainings tomorrow from 9-11 and Friday from 10-12. 

H.     EHH Grant Application Announcement--Olivia Galyon: In the middle of the grant application process.  Due August 4th.  EHH is a grant that renews yearly as well, so if your organization is not ready this year but might be interested in a following year, that is an option as well and may allow for more planning in advance. We can't guarantee that funds from both the federal and state government will be available at the same levels going forward, but I want to make it clear that this is not the only opportunity for new organizations to become an EHH recipient.
Please indicate interest in becoming a new recipient of EHH by July 18th (Friday).

I.         Vote on ADVOCAP’s request to move clients from the EHH grant into the COC grant;  tabled til next meeting

J.       Action Plan Committee Updates if applicable

a.       Affordable Housing--Susan Garcia Franz:  Looking for people to sign up as housing champions and find out what roles they would like to play.  Putting together a google form to keep track of this.  Looking at the possibility of sending out a newsletter.  If you’d like to join the committee, please let Susan know.   

b.      DEI--Tracie La Rue Moen:  No report

c.       Prevent or Reverse Criminalization of Homelessness Committee--Lisa Strandberg: No report

d.      Increase Non-Employment Cash income -Jennie Moore:  No report.

e.       Report to the Community Ad-hoc Committee--Jonathon Pylypiv:  Oct. 9th, Appleton Public Library.  Eventbrite page will be available soon.  Finalizing speakers.  Free to the community.  Website: If your organization is part of the Coalition, please put a link on your site to the Coalition website.

K.      Other Business:  

·         Mitch would like to present on the impact of the recently passed federal budget bill. 

·         Advocap implemented the Medicaid case management program and have relocated about 10 people.  Have enrolled about 35 individuals in the program.  Becky would help providers learn how to implement this program.  This is a Medicaid benefit that allows providers to bill for case management services. 

·         Operation Dental Care is a collaboration between the Fox Valley Veterans Council and Tri County Dental.  If you have a veteran who has dental issues contact Jonathan. https://tricountydental.org/our-programs/operation-dental-care/
